Testors Flat Rubber Enamel Paint TES1183 is a 1/4 fl oz oil-based hobby paint designed to create a realistic rubber-black finish with a flat, non-reflective appearance. It is an effective choice for scale-model tires, window trim, armour interiors, seats, mechanical parts, vehicle details, model-car components, aircraft interiors, model railroads, miniatures, dioramas, and custom hobby projects.
The Flat Rubber shade is formulated to replicate the subdued look of rubber and dark interior materials rather than the shine of conventional black paint. It is particularly useful for tire sidewalls, wheel-related details, window seals, weather stripping, seats, cockpit interiors, armour fittings, hoses, belts, and other parts that need a durable-looking matte dark finish.
The compact 7.4–7.5 mL glass bottle supports precise brush painting on small parts, trim lines, raised features, panel details, accessories, and touch-up areas. The enamel covers well, flows smoothly, resists blushing and fading, and blends with other compatible Testors enamel colours. Stir thoroughly before use, then apply thin, even coats to a clean, dry compatible surface. Brush large areas in one direction for a more even result.
Testors Flat Rubber may be airbrushed after thinning with compatible enamel thinner. The paint dries to the touch in approximately one hour. Clean brushes and appropriate equipment with Testors #1148 Enamel Thinner. The bottle does not accept a standard airbrush lid.
This lead-free enamel is highly flammable and toxic. Use only in a well-ventilated workspace, keep it away from heat, sparks, and open flames, and follow all product-label safety instructions.
